There is no need to show handicap cards at any of Chiang Mai's golf courses. Dress code is not strict but most clubs expect visitors to wear golf shirts with collars, short or long trousers, socks and golf shoes. Generally spike-less shoes or soft spikes are required. These can be hired at the courses.

All courses in Chiang Mai provide an extensive range of practice facilities, such as driving ranges, putting greens, practice bunkers as well a high standard of instruction. Other facilities include clubhouses, bars, restaurants and accommodation.

Mae Joe Golf Club is located behind Mae Jo University, the oldest agricultural college in Chiang Mai. The golf course being only a 20 minute drive from Chiang Mai is very popular with golfers looking for a high quality fun course that is not too far from their Chiang Mai hotel.

Excellent views of Doi Suthep and other mountains surround the golf course. With thousands of fruit trees and orchids alongside its fairways, the golf course looks as good as it plays. The kiosk at the 14th hole has a dream like view as does the 15th tee.

Seni Thirawat, Mae Joís course designer, is a popular local Thai golf course architect. The Mae Jo golf course he designed is well suited for golfers of all abilities. Narrow fairways with Zoysia grass are perfect for low handicap player. Several water hazards and doglegs as well as long par 5ís require a demanding game. The Korean Velvet greens are mostly wide but often with a slope.

The club house in modern Lanna Style offers a restaurant, lodge, and friendly service. Extensive practice facilities including driving range, putting and chipping green, and bunkers are kept in good order allowing golfers to hit a few balls before their round at Mae Jo.

Summit Green Valley Chiangmai Country Club is situated in the lowlands of Mae Rim, only a 20 minutes drive from the center of Chiangmai. Summit Green Valley is an excellent, championship caliber 18-hole golf course that is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. It features an abundance of well placed sand bunkers and lots of water that can come into play on nearly every hole on the course. The fairways are ample and mostly level.

The greens are large, receptive to approach shots, and putting speed is moderate to slightly fast. However, course length, numerous elevation changes, and prevailing wind makes Summit Green Valley Chiangmai Country Club a tough but fair challenge to golfers of all skill levels. The course drains exceptionally well during the wet season and benefits from the nearly constant "good air" breeze of the Mae Rim area.

The 18-holes world standard golf course with par 72 stays very prominently among the view of mountains, cool and cozy atmosphere. The golf course is well maintained by professionals. Landscaping is arranged to mix with the beautiful surroundings and freshness of air, lake, various kind of trees which are unique to the northern city of Chiangmai.
